Security & Compliance
Your data is your business. Keeping it safe is ours.
Data Privacy & Business Model
We are fully committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell your data. Our business model relies on displaying non-intrusive advertisements to free users and providing premium access via APIs (coming soon). No one except you will ever have access to your files.
1. Infrastructure & Data Isolation
Our software and infrastructure were designed from the ground up with customer data isolation in mind. Every file you upload for server-side processing is handled in a strictly isolated container environment. This means that processes cannot interfere with each other, and even our engineering team technically cannot access your uploaded files.
2. ISO 27001 Certified Data Centers
Our cloud infrastructure providers are ISO 27001 certified, ensuring that the physical and network security of the servers hosting Online File Opener meet the highest international standards. The network is actively monitored 24/7 and protected by enterprise-grade firewalls.
3. Encryption in Transit and at Rest
In Transit: All transfers from and to Online File Opener are protected using 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption. We ensure the use of up-to-date ciphers to prevent interception or tampering of your data over the network.
At Rest: While your files are temporarily stored on our servers for processing, they are kept on encrypted storage volumes.
4. Automated File Deletion
We believe in keeping data only as long as strictly necessary.
- Guest Users: Files uploaded by guests are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers exactly 2 hours after processing.
- Registered Users: Registered users can manage their files in the "My Files" dashboard and manually delete them at any time. If not manually deleted, files are still subject to our automated lifecycle policies.
5. GDPR and CCPA Compliance
Online File Opener is designed to be fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We respect your right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data. For detailed information on data deletion, please review our Data Deletion Policy.
6. Vulnerability Disclosure
Security is an ongoing process. If you are a security researcher and believe you have found a vulnerability in our service, we encourage you to report it to us immediately at security@onlinefileopener.com. We will investigate all legitimate reports and do our best to quickly fix the problem.
